Jakiah Leftwich becomes the tenth member of the 2021 recruiting class. He is the first offensive lineman to commit this season and brings plenty of size to a line that is in need of players who can impose their will. At 6'6" and already weighing over 300 pounds he comes equiped with the body to anchor the Tackle position. He boasts a 3-star ranking from the 247 Composite, but his offer list shows multiple Power 5 schools believe in his potential. South Carolina made a strong push but perhaps Tech received an assist from another new commitment, James BlackStrain, who tweeted out to Leftwich is was time to join the family.
Everybody got a story but they’ll only read the last page...

Jakiah keeps his quarterback's blindside clean at Westlake High School in Atlanta. His film shows he uses his size to overpower power rushers and is adept at turning them away from the play. There are some plays where linemen seem to get an early beat at the snap going to the inside. Overall, Georgia Tech is getting a great help to a position that needs improvement.
Welcomes to the Flats, Jakiah!
