After a slow start to recruiting the class of 2021, Geoff Collins & co. finally have it rolling. In the past two weeks, the Jackets’ class has more than doubled from three commits to seven. It started with DB Shawn Chappell Jr., out of Durham, NC. Following Chappell was DE Joshua Robinson from Douglasville, GA. Just two days after Robinson committed to Tech, Grayson High School DE Noah Collins flipped his commitment from UCF to the Jackets.
Rounding out the recent additions to the class is DT Zeek Biggers, a native of Mount Ulla, NC. Biggers is rated as a two-star recruit by Rivals (5.2) and 247Sports (.7943), and also holds offers from N.C. State, Temple, and Liberty.
While Biggers isn’t the highest rated recruit, he’s huge. Standing at 6’-6” and weighing 335 pounds, Biggers has the body to dominate at the defensive tackle position in the coming years. Biggers’ film isn’t too impressive (he looks slow at times), but there’s tons of room for development with the physical attributes that he has.
Defensive tackle is a position of need in this recruiting class, so I wouldn’t be surprised to see Tech take one more in the next few months.
