Well, the article’s title pretty much summarizes what to expect. With signing day officially over, Georgia Tech’s 2020 football recruiting class is official. Tech picked up three new players yesterday. This includes four-star running back Jahmyr Gibbs, and offensive linemen Cade Kootsouradis and Devin Cochran (Cochran is a graduate transfer from Vanderbilt who is originally from the Atlanta area). Welcome to the Flats gentlemen!
Here’s a nice article that goes into a little more depth on the signing of Jahmyr Gibbs. I really love the quote from his head coach, Matt Land: “Georgia Tech drove a stake in the ground and said, ‘We’re here.’” This was a significant signing for Tech, considering some of the other schools that had made offers to Gibbs — including the likes of Alabama and LSU. The Yellow Jackets’ running back corp includes the likes of Jordan Mason, Jamious Griffin, and now Jahmyr Gibbs. With the right tweaks to the offensive line, just imagine the run game Tech can establish with a backfield like that.
With NSD officially behind us, the speculation can begin as to where Tech’s 2020 class ranks. In this particular ranking, the Yellow Jackets are ranked #25 which is not too bad at all.
The Yellow Jackets women’s basketball will be back in action tonight. They’re on the road to face Pittsburgh. At 14-8 overall and 5-6 in conference play, the Yellow Jackets are looking to bounce back after a loss to Notre Dame. Good luck to them as they take on the Panthers this evening. Tip-off is set for 7:00 PM and the game will be televised on ACC Network Extra. #GoJackets
Here’s one more article about Tech’s 2020 class from the school’s official athletics website. What are your thoughts about the 2020 class now that national signing day is behind us? What players are you most excited to see on the Flats?
