The title of this article says it all. The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets week 3 home game against UCF was moved to Friday night. The September 18th game will be a nationally televised broadcast on either ESPN or ESPN2. Apparently the move came after head coach Geoff Collins had a discussion with several local high school football coaches and got their approval. Honestly, I’m looking forward to this Friday night game, just not the midtown traffic afterwards.
Here’s another article on the Friday night game against UCF. Apparently as the article points out the move came after a request by ESPN. The article also observes that this will be the first time in 62 years that Georgia Tech will host a Friday night game. For those who are wondering, the exact date was September 26, 1958. The Yellow Jackets defeated Florida State 17-3. The coach for that game was none other than Bobby Dodd himself.
The 2020 ACC indoor Track & Field Championships got underway yesterday. Tech had a good showing on day one. The championships will continue today. Good luck to the track and field squad.
This article was the fourth installment of the AJC’s preview of Georgia Tech’s football team before spring practice starts. This installment focused on defensive backs. Tech’s secondary is one of the defense’s bright spots. They have a lot of returning talent from last season. I think the addition of transfer student Derrik Allen will be a key improvement. This is certainly a group I’m looking forward to see during the 2020 season.
It’s time for Clean, Old-fashioned Hate as the No. 17 Yellow Jackets open a weekend series against the Bulldogs. Today’s game is in Athens and starts at 5:00 PM. It will be televised on the SEC Network. #GoJackets #THWG
