Anyone who watched the men’s basketball game against Syracuse over the weekend will understand this article’s sentiments that it was a “painful result” for the Yellow Jackets. Their 38-27 halftime lead seemed like it would be enough for them to pull off the upset. In the end though, Syracuse just outplayed Tech enough in the second half to make up for that 11-point deficit. Statistically it seemed like a pretty even match. But there were three key areas where they just executed and Tech didn’t: free-throws, turnovers, and penalties. In the end, the Yellow Jackets came up short, losing 79-72.

For the second time this season the Georgia Tech women’s basketball team defeated a ranked Florida State team. This time it was a lot closer as the Yellow Jackets edged by the Seminoles 65-62. As pointed out in the article, it was an impressive game for senior Francesca Pan, and the timing of that performance couldn’t have been better considering it was Senior Day. As it turns out, it would be the Yellow Jackets last home game of the regular season. Their next and final game of the regular season will be next week when they travel to Clemson to take on the Tigers. Tip-off is set for 1:00 PM and the game will air on ACC Network Extra.

It looked like the softball team would have their own late game rally yesterday against Samford. Instead, they came within one run but fell short of sweeping the Bulldogs after shutting them out on Saturday.

That was quite a performance by freshman right-hander Zach Maxwell on Sunday as the Yellow Jackets’ baseball team swept the Ohio State University Buckeyes. It wasn’t just great pitching that led the Yellow Jackets to victory; their bats delivered as well. Over the three games the Yellow Jackets outscored the Buckeyes nearly three to one with a final tally of 29-10 over the three games.
