We’ve taken a look at the roster, the schedule, and the conference — now all that’s left to do is to project out the season. Today, we’re talking about how we really think the season is going to shake out.

The team struggles a little early as the freshman have to adapt to the college game but we get better as the year continues and we make a super regional.

From my preview of the second half of the schedule:
But the key for Tech might not necessarily be the opponents it faces in April and May — instead, it might be staying healthy late into the spring. given that a number of Yellow Jacket pitchers suffered what seemed to be over-use injuries as the calendar turned from April to May in 2019. However, if the pitching staff can remain intact and the lineup continues its (now typical) power-hitting ways, there’s no reason that Tech can’t ride a hot streak through the ACC tournament and right into the NCAAs.
If the Jackets can stay healthy and maintain the level of dominance they regularly displayed over their conference opponents last season, they’re going to have a very successful year, one on par (if not better than) last year, even without some of its major contributors from that squad. Don’t be mistaken: churning out 2-1 series victories or better versus a conference that now has at least nine tournament teams will be a tall order, especially when a number of those teams posted deep runs into the 2019 NCAA tournament and return most of their starters.
However, I have faith that Tech can rise to the occasion. The Jackets return the consistent hitting, developed the technically-gifted and technologically-optimized pitching, and brought in the young talent to build on last year’s near-miss at a Super-Regional. Now, it’s time to take the next step.
Projected Wins: 38+
Projected Finish: ACC Coastal 2nd place (or better), ACC Tournament Finalist (or better), Regional host
