Georgia Tech’s rookie standout Jahmyr Gibbs finished third for the ACC offensive rookie of the year and fifth for the overall rookie of the year — Notre Dame running back Kyren Williams finished first in both categories. Gibbs was a pleasant surprise for the Yellow Jackets, a team that already had a lot of depth at the running back position. The article does point out that Gibbs’ season was shortened by his injury and this had an impact on his production. Regardless, congratulations to Gibbs on the well-deserved recognition.

The list of candidates for the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame Class of 2021 was recently announced. Former Yellow Jackets basketball player and NBA champion Chris Bosh is one of the names to appear on the list. As the article points out, Bosh is already an inductee in the Georgia Tech Sports Hall of Fame in 2018.

The football season is officially over and the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets finished their second season with head coach Geoff Collins at the helm. While their 3-7 record may indicate a disappointing season, the team made significant improvements in key areas. As the article does a good job of pointing out, there were positive aspects that indicate things are improving for the Yellow Jackets. Year three will definitely come with higher expectations as Collins and his staff will have additional components in place to transition to the kind of team they have in mind.

In some of the latest #ProJackets news from the professional golfing world, former Yellow Jacket golfer Matt Kuchar participated in the PNC Championship. This article features several updates including Kuchar’s performance at the PNC. It was an interesting tournament, and was nice getting to see the likes of Kuchar and the other professional golfers and their fathers/sons. The combination of Tiger Woods and his son was another highlight from that tournament. In other news that the article brings up, four Yellow Jackets including J.T. Griffin, Chris Petefish, Luke Schniederjans, and Tyler Strafaci, were invited to the Big Money Golf Classic.
