The 2020 Yellow Jackets’ football season is officially over. This comes as athletic director Todd Stansbury informed the ACC that based on the most recent medical reports, it would be in the best interests of its student athletes not to attempt to play the game that was re-scheduled to this Saturday. Interestingly, there may be a possibility the Yellow Jackets would play in a bowl game, if they were to be invited to one. Honestly, with the way the ACC referees have been officiating, who really wants to watch another ACC game.
The Georgia Tech men’s basketball team will be on the road tomorrow to face Florida State for its fifth game of the season. As the article mentions, the Yellow Jackets have lost 14 of their last 16 games against the Seminoles. The Yellow Jackets started off the season losing their first two games, but they then went on to defeat 20th ranked Kentucky and then Nebraska. Going into the FSU game, Tech guard Jose Alvarado is confident the Yellow Jackets are on the right track. At the time of their game, Kentucky was ranked 20th, currently the Seminoles hold that spot. It would be quite a statement if the Yellow Jackets can pull off the upset against the Seminoles. Tip off is set for 8:30 PM.
The Yellow Jackets announced that they’ve added the Austin Peay Governors to their 2024 football schedule. Austin Peay is a member of the Ohio Valley Conference and is an FCS school. It will be the first meeting between the two school’s football teams. Some other schools on Tech’s 2024 schedule will include Clemson, Duke, Miami, North Carolina, Pittsburgh, Wake Forest, and Virginia.
The Yellow Jackets women’s basketball team defeated Notre Dame convincingly yesterday afternoon. The final score was 82-67. As the article mentions, this is the team’s first victory against the Fighting Irish. Congratulations to the Yellow Jackets on improving to 4-1 on the season.
