Technical Tidbits 11/20: James Graham Enters Transfer Portal

All the best to the former Jacket QB!

After losing his starting job to true freshman Jeff Sims, Georgia Tech QB James Graham has entered the transfer portal. Graham was a four-star recruit, originally committed to Virginia Tech as a DB, who came to Tech to play QB in the triple option offense. Graham played sparsely in 2018, and spent most of the 2019 season as the starter in Geoff Collins’ pro-style offense. Graham did not play spectacularly and was hampered by poor offensive line play. Last year, he threw for 12 touchdowns, with 7 interceptions and a 45.1% completion percentage. The Fitzgerald, GA native is looking to play QB at his next school. Thank you, and good luck, James!

When Georgia Tech’s game vs. Pitt was moved to December 12, it came into conflict with Tech’s commencement ceremonies set for Bobby Dodd Stadium on that date. So, the ACC has decided to move the game up two days, it will now be held on December 10 (a Thursday) and will kick off at 7 p.m. ET. Pitt’s visit to Atlanta will be televised on a RSN, a little surprising considering it’s an ACC game on a Thursday night. As some have pointed out, this means that Tech will have three games in 13 days. That’s not going to be great coming off of an almost month-long layoff.

A shortened season is not stopping Tech’s Men’s Swimming and Diving team from being successful. The Jackets, currently competing at the u(sic)GA Invitational, were ranked no. 22 in a recent national poll. According to the article above, in just two events, many Jackets have reached the standard to qualify for the NCAA Championships. Keep it up, Jackets!

Graduation is coming up soon for many Tech students. The student-athletes that are graduating (or graduated this summer) were celebrated at the GTAA’s graduation brunch that is traditionally held before each commencement ceremony. Even while outside and physically distant, it was great to see a positive Tech tradition carried on.

I think this picture Andy Ogletree posted might be in the running for coolest picture of the year.

Question of the Day: What do you think about the 3 games in 13 day situation?
