NCAA Football: Georgia Tech at Boston College Paul Rutherford-USA TODAY Sports

Of course, Tech’s 31-13 loss to Notre Dame this weekend wasn’t the outcome that was hoped for, but there were some positive takeaways from this game, as this article points out. True freshman Jahmyr Gibbs continues to make a name for himself as one of the Yellow Jackets up and coming players. In the loss to the Fighting Irish, Gibbs accumulated a respectable 110 yards from scrimmage. Linebacker Quez Jackson also had a good day. He recorded a career high 11 tackles to lead the Yellow Jackets. Also, as an added bonus, defensive back Zamari Walton’s fumble recovery that led to a scoop score set a new school record. Walton returned the fumble 93 yards for the Yellow Jackets first points of the game.

The ACC/Big Ten Challenge will be a two day affair taking place on the 8th and 9th of December. As the article points out, the matchups for the 22nd ACC/Big Ten Challenge were announced this past Friday. Tech will travel to Nebraska to take on the Cornhuskers. The game will take place on December 9th. The Yellow Jackets won the last time they faced the Cornhuskers in the challenge 73-56.

In a little more basketball news, this article is from last week but contains a video of Tech head coach Josh Pastner’s preseason press conference. Pastner talks about the team’s preparations for the season and the effects of the pandemic on the team’s practices among other topics.

The cross country team had a strong finish in the 2020 Atlantic Coast Conference Cross-Country Championships that took place this past Friday. With the second-place overall, the women’s team recorded their highest finish in school history in the ACC XC Championships as the article mentions. Congratulations to them on their strong finish.
