The 84th Masters Tournament wrapped up yesterday at the Augusta National in Augusta, Georgia. Georgia Tech golfer and former U.S. Amateur champion Andy Ogletree tied for 34th after shooting a 72 on Sunday. Ogletree finished at two under par for the tournament which was good enough to earn him recognition as the Masters’ low amateur. As the article mentions, with this finish, Ogletree becomes the second Yellow Jacket to follow up a U.S. Amateur championship with recognition as the Masters low amateur — the other player to do that was none other than Matt Kuchar. Congratulations to Ogletree on his strong finish in this year’s Masters Tournament.

First the schedule was announced and we knew the opponents for the Yellow Jackets men’s basketball team. Now the tip times have been announced, at least for some of the non-conference games. The season officially gets started at 9:00 PM on the evening of November the 25th as Georgia Tech hosts Georgia State at McCamish Pavilion. Two days later on the 27th, the Yellow Jackets will host Mercer at 8:00 PM. The Florida A&M and Delaware State games are the other two games to have the tip off time announced. All these games will be broadcast by either RSN or the ACC Network.

It’s always fun when the Yellow Jacket teams come out with new jerseys. As the article discusses, both the men’s and women’s basketball teams revealed new Adidas uniforms. Both teams will feature new white, Tech gold, and navy blue jerseys. The 2020-2021 season gets under way in less than two weeks.

As everyone knows by now, Tech’s home game against Pittsburgh has been rescheduled due to Covid-19 protocols, so there isn’t much football news from this weekend. The game is rescheduled for December 12th. Tech’s next game will be on Saturday the 21st as the Yellow Jackets travel down south to take on Miami. When Saturday’s game arrives it will have been three weeks since the Yellow Jackets’ last game which was on October 31 against Notre Dame. It will be interesting to see how the team fares after such a long break.

Congratulations to Andy Ogletree on finishing as the low amateur at the Masters!
