For the first time since 1958, a college football game will be played at Bobby Dodd Stadium on a Friday night. Interestingly enough, the last home Friday game was a victory against Florida State (a good omen?). As the article above points out, for the Jackets to win this game they will need to limit turnovers. Louisville is a much better team than Syracuse, and even if you have over 400 yards of offense in a game, multiple turnovers is a definite way to fall behind quickly. Jeff Sims really needs to keep his head on a swivel tonight.
At points during this season, it has been hard to watch the Yellow Jacket defense try and stop opposing offenses. Against UCF and Syracuse, the unit was barely generating any pressure, which led to some easy big plays for both the Knights and the Orange. Last week’s open date was important as it allowed for some reflection on the quality of play so far. Players have become more focused on giving as much effort as possible and holding each individual responsible for their success as a whole.
Here’s some good news for the Jackets, star CB Tre Swilling is likely to make his season debut tonight. A foot injury had derailed him from playing in Tech’s first three games. Swilling was a key piece in Tech’s secondary last season, breaking up 10 passes and making 23 tackles. The New Orleans, LA native was named an Honorable Mention All-ACC player for 2019. Welcome back, Tre!
After a season opening loss to Miami, the Georgia Tech volleyball team is getting back on track. The Jackets have won three straight games, two of the three being sweeps. Florida State was the victim in the latest two wins as Tech tries to live up to their no. 13 national ranking. Next week, Michelle Collier and her crew will head to the Old North State to battle it out against Wake Forest. The game on Wednesday is set for 6 p.m. ET and Thursday’s contest will take place at 4 p.m. ET. Both can be seen on the ACC Network.

Here’s tonight’s uniform combination. I’ve got to say, I’m not the biggest fan of the navy look. Louisville will be wearing this under the lights.
Question of the Day: What’s your final prediction for tonight’s game (7 p.m. ET, ESPN)?
