Well, the cat is finally out of the bag. After being hinted at since Geoff Collins came to Georgia Tech, the Yellow Jackets will be wearing black uniforms this weekend against Notre Dame (3:30 p.m. ET, ABC). The uniforms will honor the famed “Black Watch” defense of the 1980s, which included players like Ted Roof and Pat Swilling. I, personally, am not a fan of them solely because black is not an official school color. However, if you want to buy a replica, the link is here.

When you have to punt a lot, and you’re good at it, you get recognized for your play. That’s exactly what’s been happening for Georgia Tech’s punter Pressley Harvin III, he’s been named to the Ray Guy Award’s “Ray’s 4” for the fifth time this season. This list is for the four best punters each week of the college football season. According to the article above, Harvin III is currently first in the ACC and fourth nationally in punting average. Keep it up, Pressley!

The Georgia Tech basketball season tips off in a little less than a month with a matchup against Georgia State. One of the biggest additions of this past offseason was G Kyle Sturdivant. The sophomore was a high three-star recruit out of high school and played in most of Southern Cal’s games last season, before his father sadly passed away in a car accident. Learn more about Kyle in the video above with Andy Demetra.

With all of the strife going on in the world, it is great to see the ACC holding a “Unity Week.” The goal is to help student-athletes work together to unite against the injustices that still plague the United States. For day one of “Unity Week,” the GTAA held a “Coffee With a Cop” event with the GTPD. Listening is the first step to fixing some of the major problems within this country. I can’t wait to see what the rest of the week has in store!

The Georgia Tech basketball team is still in the running for four-star SG Dallan “Deebo” Coleman. The other teams in his top three include Ole Miss and Texas Tech. Let’s hope we get some good news on Wednesday afternoon!

Question of the Day: What are your thoughts on the black uniforms for this weekend?
