Needless to say, the results of last night’s game were disappointing. They Yellow Jackets stumbled again as they dropped their third game in a row. This time losing to the Louisville Cardinals 68-64. As pointed out, Tech led by as many as 11 points early in the second half; but it was a familiar story, one that head coach Josh Pastner is all to familiar with now, that was the Yellow Jackets undoing: turnovers and defensive rebounding. One thing I certainly agree with that the article touches on is that this Yellow Jacket team is much better than its 8-11 record would have one believe. Who knows if or when they will be able to right the ship, but if they could just clean up their play in those two key areas and get on a good winning streak, there could still be time for them to put together a case for a spot in the NCAA tournament. The sooner that happens the better.
The Yellow Jackets women’s basketball team will host North Carolina for the second of its two-game stretch. As pointed out, this will be the 79th time the two programs have faced each other. It should be a close and exciting game. Tip-off is set for tonight at 6:00 PM.
The Yellow Jackets track and field team has announced its 2020 outdoor season. It won’t be until March that their first meet of the season occurs. For the time being, their indoor competition will continue this weekend at the Bob Pollock Invitational where they’ll face Clemson.
Speaking of schedules, I’m sure the majority of you are well aware of the Yellow Jackets 2020 football schedule and have perused it carefully picking out the fine details of the opponents and imagining what games are winnable or not. This article provides an interesting game-by-game look at the schedule. With all that in mind, what are your thoughts of Tech’s 2020 football schedule? What do you project their final record to be?
