This weekend, Georgia Tech’s football team will make its home debut and it will also be its annual Whiteout game. It will be the Yellow Jackets’ first game at home under new head coach Geoff Collins. I cannot think of a more stylish way to make a debut than in the traditional white and gold.

As many most likely have heard by now, Dr. Aaron King has passed away. Since 1965 he has served as Tech’s official dentist. I find it fascinating that he had molded mouthpieces for thousands of Tech football players going as far back as the 1960s. Can you imagine some of the players he got to know and the vast amount of history and stories he must have accumulated over the years? The GT Athletic Department announces the news of his passing yesterday. He was 88 years old.

So, Tech’s home opener is coming up and there will be some new offerings at the stadium. You can check out the items available from the following link. After checking it out myself, I was most surprised by what I didn’t see listed or mentioned. Yes, Waffle House. Is there a reason they couldn’t have a WH popup in the stadium? Well, I’m guessing “Burdell’s Bites” has cornered the market. Regardless, is there anyone else who would like to see that come to fruition?

Okay, so this new ticket-sales strategy just seems to make sense to me. It would seem unfair that non-Tech fans would be able to (unintentionally, of course) drive down the revenue that Tech could accrue from ticket-sales of its home games. I’m wondering how it will affect Tech fans who don’t buy season tickets, though. I would imagine they would want to go ahead and buy tickets for the bigger games now, before the prices go up, particularly for the UGA game.
