This was an interesting article. It focuses on Yellow Jacket senior Nathan Cottrell and how he’s adapted to his new role on the special teams — in particular as the punting team’s gunner. Thinking about what the gunner does and the impact they can have on a punt, it’s quite a key role. Tech has a wonderful punter in Pressley Harvin III. More often than not, his punts will position the ball in a place that can pin the opposing team deep in their own territory. Often, it requires a gunner to be able to down the ball to ensure that kind of advantageous field position for Tech’s defense. So the combination of Harvin and Cottrell is perhaps one of the most key duos that Tech features.

Ouch, this one hurts. Many of you have already read this article, so you know the details. It feels like there’s a lot here to digest. The big question is, how much is all of this going to really set the program back. Hopefully, the men’s basketball team will have a strong year, regardless of the punishment handed down by the NCAA. These sanctions will have their effect on recruiting, but winning would be a great way to counter that.

It’s a busy weekend for the volleyball team. Tonight they open up their ACC schedule facing off against Syracuse. On Sunday, the Yellow Jackets will make their ACC Network debut as they host Boston College. Good luck ladies! #GoJackets

Thoughts on the uniforms?

So, the computer models have been running and they have been busy picking their favorites. I’ve noticed on more than a few sites that Tech is the underdog against Temple. In all honesty, that’s my preference. If anything it could serve as additional motivation. Hopefully, the team has had time to learn from its mistakes and get over the previous loss. This game should speak volumes for how the rest of the season could go.
