Technical Tidbits 9/18: Offensive Line Playing Musical Chairs

Injuries mean offensive linemen must be able to take on multiple roles.

Adding injury to insult is not a good way for Tech’s football team to follow-up their disastrous weekend. Yesterday’s news regarding Jahaziel Lee’s injury capped off a series of unfortunate events for the offensive line. It seems the last couple of weeks have seen a nightmare scenario unfold for that unit as there were injuries to several key players. Luckily, assistant head coach and offensive line coach Brent Key seems to have had a strategy in place for such a series of events. Playing musical chairs with his offensive linemen, Key hopes to fill the holes in the depth chart. This all makes sense, but I imagine there will be a learning curve. This bye-week couldn’t have come at a more appropriate time.

Not just one but three Yellow Jacket’s men’s tennis players have ranked in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) National Preseason Poll. The rankings were as follows, Carlos Divar (Sr) # 22, Cole Gromley (So.) #89, and Andres Martin (Fr.) #9. Congratulations and good luck to these Yellow Jackets and their teammates!

Georgia Tech’s women’s cross-country team was ranked #29 in the Women’s Cross Country National Coaches’ Poll. They also recently finished first at the Georgia Bulldog Invitational late last month. Congratulations!

This is just the kind of good news that is needed. Tech’s volleyball team defeated UGA 3-2 yesterday last year, let’s wish them luck in tomorrow’s game against Arkansas and Friday’s against u[sic]ga. #THWG
