This Tuesday, Tech saw two recruits commit to the football program. That brings the 2020 recruiting class total up to 18 commits to date.
The first news came in early in the day when 6’7” OT Wing Green announced his commitment on Twitter. Green is ranked a three-star recruit by Rivals and is unranked by the 247 Sports Composite. Obviously, ranking isn’t everything, as more than one school had thought highly enough of him to extend him an offer, Tech being one of them.
Green was recruited by Brent Key, who is the offensive-line coach. You can view some of Green’s 2019 Spring Highlights on Hudl. Green seems to have a lot of athleticism and moves quickly on his feet, considering his height. He could potentially be a great offensive tackle. At 270-pounds, he’ll need to put on some weight, but that shouldn’t be a problem.
Honestly, I’m excited to see how Green develops as a player, and it will be great having him on The Flats.
Yes, I mentioned two commits. Khaya Wright was the second recruit to commit to Tech on Tuesday. He made his announcement later in the evening. Wright is a 6’2”, 194-lb outside linebacker from Miami, Fl.
Before I say anything further, watch the highlight film below, and pay attention to the first play in particular:
That’s a [Pink Floyd] strong dude right there. Yeah. It will be fun seeing this guy on The Flats. Oh, and I almost forgot to mention, he also plays baseball.
What are your thoughts about the two newest Yellow Jackets?
We talk a lot about former Yellow Jackets who have went on to play in the NFL. So, I thought this was an interesting article as it follows up on some former Yellow Jackets who’ve been busy on the PGA tour. There’s quite a few of them. It’s nice to see Tech so well represented by both its current and former players. Good luck to them as the summer golf season continues.
