Today is the day. Georgia Tech baseball will begin what is hopefully a long NCAA Tournament run. Amos Willingham will get the start for the first game against the Florida A&M. Even though the Rattlers are considered the worst team in the tournament, it will be important to shut them down early and get off to a good start.
Continuing with baseball, ESPN tiered the field for the tournament and Georgia Tech is included in “The Favorites.” ESPN also named Kyle McCann a player to watch and included the Jackets in their College World Series field prediction.
Although Tech Basketball fans have gotten their hopes up on many occasions under Josh Pastner, another recruit has chosen to go different way. This time it stings even more because it was to u(sic)ga. Rodney Howard spurning the Jackets puts them in a tight position going into the season, as currently James Banks is the only true post player on the roster. However, all hope is not lost as German basketball player Quentin Post will be visiting The Flats this week.
The Women’s Tennis team had a disappointing season, but number 1 singles player Kenya Jones deserves a big congratulations for her second ever ITA All-American recognition.
Two more congratulations are in order. One for future Jacket Emma Kauf on being named the 2019 Nebraska softball Gatorade Player of the Year, and the other to former Jacket Will Bryan for being named Middle Tennessee’s assistant strength coach.

I know I criticized the newfound social media enthusiasm on Wednesday, but this is just a really cool edit.

Finally, to round out the week our glorious (co)-leader Benjamin Tankersley went onto The Morgan Thomas Show to preview Georgia Tech football. Go check it out!
Question of the Day: How do you feel about Mack Brown and UNC currently having a better recruiting class than the Jackets?
