Technical Tidbits 12/9: PFF Recognizes Four Yellow Jackets

Pro Football Focus honors for four Yellow Jackets.

NCAA Football: Georgia at Georgia Tech Brett Davis-USA TODAY Sports

The following four Yellow Jackets were recognized by Pro Football Focus:

  • Ahmarean Brown - WR
  • Tariq Carpenter - S
  • Jordan Mason - RB
  • Juanyeh Thomas - S

Congratulations to them for this recognition. As the article points out, the Yellow Jackets will be returning a significant portion of its players next season, including these four. This should bode well for the Yellow Jackets in their second season of the Geoff Collins’ Era.

The Yellow Jackets men’s basketball team lost badly to the Syracuse Orange on Saturday night. The final score was 97-63. With that loss, their record now stands at 4-3 overall and 1-1 in the ACC. The Yellow Jackets will have plenty of time to get over that lopsided loss and regroup before hosting the eight ranked Kentucky Wildcats on Saturday.

It’s not really worth looking back at it, but it’s interesting to note that there was some explanation provided as to why the Yellow Jackets volleyball team was not selected for the NCAA Tournament. In a way, the non-conference aspect of the explanation seems reasonable, but it still doesn’t seem fair that Tech was not included. It’s been over 10 years since the last time the Yellow Jackets were in the NCAA Tournament.

In more volleyball news, the Yellow Jackets defeated Troy 3-1 on Saturday advancing to the quarterfinals of the National Invitational Volleyball Championship. Tech will host Liberty on Tuesday, December 10. The match will begin at 7:00 PM. #GoJackets

In what was a back and forth game, Georgia Tech’s women’s basketball team came out on top against Kennesaw State 63-47. That victory puts the Yellow Jackets at 7-1 on the season. Their next game will be on Sunday, December 15th when they’ll host be hosting ETSU. Tipoff is set for 2:00 PM and the game will be on the ACC Network Extra.
