Technical Tidbits 12/5: Jackets Fight on Without Alvarado

A fun Big 10/ACC Challenge

NCAA Basketball: Georgia Tech at Georgia Dale Zanine-USA TODAY Sports

This was a big win for Georgia Tech last night. Michael Devoe had a great game, scoring 26 points, while Moses Wright scored 18 for the Jackets. One problem from the game was three point shooting, outside of Michael Devoe (4-8), the rest of the team was 1-15. The Jackets have a quick turnaround, hosting Syracuse this Saturday at 12 p.m. on the ACC Network. The Orange have not played well this year, so let’s hope Josh Pastner & co. soundly defeat the anti-airball chanters.

Tucker Gleason was one of the first players committed in Georgia Tech’s 2020 recruiting class. The QB from Tampa, Florida confirmed on his Twitter yesterday that he will be enrolling early at Georgia Tech next month. This should lead to an interesting Spring QB competition that Ben alluded to in this week’s Mailbag, between Gleason, James Graham, and Jordan Yates. I’m looking forward to it.

The Georgia Tech Women’s Basketball team has played surprisingly well this year, only dropping a game in the Bahamas to a strong Rutgers team. They will look to continue playing well tonight against Wisconsin in the Women’s Big Ten/ACC Challenge. The game is being played at 7 p.m. on ACCNX. Come out to McCamish and support your Yellow Jackets!

The 2019 Toyota U.S. Open National Championships are currently being held at the McAuley Aquatic Center through Sunday. This is a big event in the swimming world, and Georgia Tech has 22 swimmers competing in 14 events. Although the event is not a team event, it will still be crucial for Tech swimmers to have success. After this, the swimming and diving teams get a training trip to Hawaii, which should be a good way for the team to bond and get better.

Here’s a fun video for your Thursday. Enjoy!

Question of the Day: How do you feel about the Tech Men’s Basketball team so far?
