Before getting into the first of this week’s Tidbits, I just wanted to take a moment to reflect on the football season. I remember that before the beginning of the season for the Mailbag 7/31 there was a question regarding hopes for the season and how it would turn out. Interestingly enough, finishing 3-9 would be an accurate estimation (granted Tech didn’t win against uga). What are your thoughts on how the season turned out and what you are looking forward to in the off-season and beyond?
It was an emotional weekend for Yellow Jackets. Clean, Old-Fashioned Hate is a game that can do that to coaches, the players, the staff, and the fans. There’s quite a lot to unpack here in these post-game quotes. In head coach Geoff Collins’ opening statements and Q&A, he touches a little on what went wrong in the second half, particularly the 3rd quarter. Those comments are worth taking a look at. To me, one of the more bitter-sweet moments came in the post-game conference with Tyler Davis. He was among the few seniors who were a part of this season’s roster. You could easily tell how much this season meant to him.
To @Tyler_Davis9 and all our seniors, we thank you for everything you’ve done for Georgia Tech. The foundation you’ve built for the future will never be forgotten. #404theCULTURE pic.twitter.com/afdxlSBG65

Georgia Tech’s swimming and diving team picked up its first early verbal commitment for the 2021 season. Sean Simmons, who is a native of Pittsgrove, New Jersey has given a verbal commitment to the Yellow Jackets. Welcome to The Flats!
Very interesting and informative article here on Georgia Tech’s volleyball team. Their season didn’t start out the right way, but they did win 13 of their final 14 matches. They really did finish the season strong and put forth a strong case for being invited to the NCAA Tournament. The last time the Yellow Jackets were in the tourney was back in 2009. Hopefully, they get the invitation. #GoJackets
Well, apparently the NCAA selection committee made their decisions and it didn’t include the Yellow Jackets. Completely baffling.
Who needs the NCAA tournament!? For the second season in a row, the Yellow Jackets volleyball team earned a bid to the National Invitational Volleyball Championship. Congratulations to the volleyball team!
Georgia Tech’s men’s basketball won in a close game with Bethune-Cookman. The final score was 68-65. Hopefully, that was a wake up call for the team.
