Boston College - 58 | Syracuse - 27
Wow, Boston College’s offense absolutely exploded in this game! Y’all remember when Syracuse was supposed to be good? Yeah, that didn’t work out too well. AJ Dillon and David Bailey had great games as the Eagles routed the Orange. Dillon went for 242 yards and three touchdowns, while Bailey went for 172 yards on two touchdowns. On top of all that, Boston College also passed for three touchdowns. ON TEN PASSES.
NC State - 10 | Wake Forest - 44
Speaking of offenses coming to life, Wake Forest secured a winning record for the season with a 44-point performance. Jamie Newman found tight end Jack Freudenthal for three touchdowns through the air while adding another two on the ground. The Demon Deacon defense also held NC State to less than 260 yards of offense, which is equally impressive.
Virginia Tech - 20 | Notre Dame - 21
Virgina Tech continued to show some improvement on their trip to South Bend. Notre Dame’s offense went for nearly 450 yards to the Hokies’ 236 and still need a touchdown in the final minute of the game to win this. Virginia Tech forced three turnovers to help get there. Quarterback Quincy Patterson II was the majority of the offense for the Hokies, passing for 139 yards and a touchdown and adding another 77 on the ground.
Miami - 27 | Florida State - 10
This game was close for a while, but the Hurricanes were able to break away as their defense returned to form against Florida State. They held the Seminoles to just 137 yards. That is absolutely insane. They got six sacks and 16 tackles for loss. Jarren Williams got the start at quarterback and passed for over 300 yards and two touchdowns.
Wofford - 14 | Clemson - 59
Clemson played a team they are way better than, gained over 700 yards of offense and scored nearly 60 points, but this time, they did in it purple.
Pitt - 20 | Georgia Tech - 10
I wasn’t able to watch this game due to some prior commitments, but from reading the comments in the FTRS Staff Slack, I’m glad I didn’t.
Virginia - 38 | North Carolina - 31
In what may end up being the game to decide the ACC Coastal, it was Virginia that came out on top, thanks to a HUGE game from Bryce Perkins. He passed for 378 yards and three touchdowns, while also adding another 112 yards and two touchdowns on the ground. UNC kept things interesting, though. Sam Howell had another big game, passing for 353 yards and four touchdowns.
#goacc Moment of the Week
WE HAD ANOTHER TIE THIS WEEK!! The first one is the one that I mentioned in the article last week, aka the worst jump pass of all time.
The other one was this peculiar moment.
Since I don’t really know who would get the point on the second tweet, I’m only going to give the point to Duke here. Let’s take a look at the standings!
- Duke - 2
- Florida State - 2
- Georgia Tech - 2
- Miami - 2
- Boston College - 1
- North Carolina - 1
- Pittsburgh - 1
