The real story from Stegeman is the fact that Tech’s otherwise meaningless buzzer-beating 3 just gave the degenerates who bet on Georgia, 5.5-point favorites, an awfully bad beat.— Jason Butt (@JasonHButt) November 21, 2019
The backdoor cover, Michael Devoe’s 34 points, and Tech Women’s Basketball beating Georgia State 69-28 are all that matters from last night. MAKE YOUR FREE THROWS.
After Saturday against Virginia Tech, I’m not sure what to expect tonight against the NC State Wolfpack. Which version of James Graham will we see? Will the defense be able to make some stops? Will the receivers actually be able to not drop passes? This will be an interesting game, especially to see how the Jackets recover from an embarrassing loss only a few days prior. If you’re so inclined to watch, the game begins at 8 p.m. ET on ESPN. Go Jackets!
Curtis Ryans didn’t really make his name known until this weekend, when the sophomore started and played a pretty good game against Virginia Tech. His story is different from many college football players, as he was relatively unrecruited coming out of high school. Part of that was due to his grades, but he worked hard and Paul Johnson gave him a chance. Ryans has continued to work hard and will get much more playing time in the final two games of the season. Keep up the good work, Curtis!
This is a great article featuring a profile of each of the four Tech Volleyball seniors, who will be honored tomorrow night before their game against Clemson. The four leaders have played a key role in the Volleyball team’s hot streak, as they are 10-1 in their last 11 games. According to FTRS’ own Jake Grant, the team is solidly on the bubble and will need two sweeps this weekend and a sweep against the Miami Hurricanes next weekend to solidify a NCAA tournament berth.
Even though I have limited knowledge of softball, this seems like a very difficult schedule for Georgia Tech. The Jackets will face seven NCAA Women’s College World Series participants from 2019 in their non-conference schedule, plus a loaded ACC schedule. It should be an interesting year for the Yellow Jackets.
I get that Geoff Collins & co. want to create buzz with new uniform combinations, but what’s wrong with the classic home look of Gold/White/Gold? Or, the always guranteed to generate hype for a night game at Bobby Dodd look of White/White/White?
Question of the Day: How do you feel about this week’s uniform combination?
