Technical Tidbits 11/13: Tech’s Three Game Homestand Starts Saturday

Tech will end its season with a three game homestand.

The Yellow Jackets are finishing off their season with three home games. As the article points out, 1991 was the last time Tech ended a regular season with three straight home games. The first of these games is this Saturday as Tech hosts Virginia Tech.

Matt Kuchar, J.T. Griffin, and Nicholas Thompson were among #ProJackets to make golfing news this week. Among the upcoming events featuring former Yellow Jackets will be the Mayakoba Golf Classic and the Korn Ferry Tour Qualifying Final Stage.

In more golfing news, Georgia Tech’s Tyler Strafaci was named as the ACC Golfer of the Month for October. And the Yellow Jackets golf team was ranked as high as #2 in at least one poll. Congratulations to Strafaaci and the golf team for a strong fall showing.

This article rightly points out how Tech’s struggles on special teams proved costly in their loss to Virginia last week. Whether it was field goal attempts, punts, or kickoffs, there were miscues that, collectively, may have made the difference in the game. For me, the squib kick and Juanyeh Thomas’ fair catch deep in Tech territory were the most painful to watch during the game. Hopefully, for the final three games, the special teams unit can avoid the mental mistakes.

According to head coach Josh Pastner, Georgia Tech’s sophomore basketball player Kristian Sjolund is open to the idea of redshirting this year. He’ll make a decision about it soon, Pastner said. Of course, redshirting could present benefits, as the article mentions, such as allowing Sjolund to develop and gain strength. What would you do if you were in his position?
