Earlier today, four-star center Saba Gigiberia committed to Georgia Tech. Gigiberia currently plays for Prolific Prep in Napa, California. According to 247Sports, Gigiberia is the 17th best center in the nation, and is number 127 overall. The center drew interest from other schools including Vanderbilt, Boise State, and USC. Although Gigiberia currently plays for a team located in California, he is originally from the Republic of Georgia and will look to follow in the footsteps of Zaza Pachulia (a fellow Georgian) in the NBA.
The 7-foot tall Gigiberia is a prototypical big-man, as his film shows him using his size to his advantage on the offensive and defensive ends of the basketball court. Along with fellow 2020 commit Jordan Meka, Gigiberia will help bolster a thin Georgia Tech front-court next season, especially with the graduation of James Banks III imminent. This is the last scholarship that Josh Pastner has for the 2020 class, with the NCAA mandated one scholarship reduction not happening just yet as the GTAA is currently undergoing the appeal process for the major punishments handed down as a result of multiple Tech basketball scandals.
