Florida State - 38 | Boston College - 31
Wow, the first game in the post-Willie Taggart era for Florida State ended up being a doozy. Boston College did a good job of staying in control in the first quarter of the game, but a two-touchdown third quarter gave the Seminoles the momentum they needed to secure the victory. Quarterback James Blackman had a HUGE game, passing for 346 yards and two touchdowns.
Florida State plays again Saturday against Alabama State. Boston College is on a bye this week.
Georgia Tech - 28 | Virginia - 33
This one ended up being a lot closer than most people thought, but despite Tech losing, there are still plenty of positives to be pulled.
Georgia Tech plays again Saturday against Virginia Tech. Virginia is on a bye this week.
Wake Forest - 17 | Virginia Tech - 36
I’m not sure what exactly happened, but Virginia Tech has really been on fire lately. The Hokies scored four touchdowns on the ground, but the impressive part of this game was their defense. They did a great job of limiting Jamie Newman to a 46 percent completion percentage and forcing two interceptions, including one right near the Hokies goalline.
Wake Forest plays again Saturday at Clemson. Virginia Tech plays again Saturday at Georgia Tech.
Louisville - 27 | Miami - 52
Jarren Williams passed for SIX TOUCHDOWNS in a game that wasn’t nearly as close as the score would indicate. The Hurricanes, a team that can’t seem to decide how good they want to be this season, was in complete control throughout the whole game. The Miami defense also forced three turnovers and got two sacks.
Louisville plays again Saturday at NC State. Miami is on a bye this week.
Clemson - 55 | NC State - 10
Clemson routed another team by a lot of points. Trevor Lawrence threw three touchdowns, Etienne ran for over 100 yards and two touchdowns, and the Tigers defense forced four turnovers. Sounds like a normal day for Clemson.
Clemson plays again Saturday against Wake Forest. NC State plays again this Saturday against Louisville.
Notre Dame - 38 | Duke - 7
Well, I don’t think this went how David Cutcliffe planned for the Blue Devils, as Notre Dame pulled off an easy victory. Duke was held to under 200 yards of total offense, while giving up nearly 470 yards to the Fighting Irish.
Duke plays again this Saturday against Syracuse.
#goacc Moment of the Week
Well it wasn’t much of a contest this week. For earning a transitive loss to The Citadel and knee-jerk firing Willie Taggart before the end of the season, leaving them on the hook for a $17 million buyout, the #goacc Moment of the Week for Week 10 goes to the Florida State Seminoles. Let’s see how they stand:
- Florida State - 3
- Duke - 2
- Georgia Tech - 2
- Miami - 2
- #goaccRefs - 1
- Boston College - 1
- North Carolina - 1
- Pittsburgh - 1
I’m very okay with this. Be sure to leave your nominees for this week in the comments! If you see the moment you’d like to nominate, please be sure to rec the comment!
