Measuring in at 6-foot-4 and a shade over 300 pounds, Vaipulu is the prototypical offensive lineman that Paul Johnson’s speed-dependent blocking scheme essentially ruled out for the past decade. A testament to the quip that everything is bigger in Texas, he will provide much-needed size to the 2020 trenches for Georgia Tech — something that promises to be lacking in 2019.
Vaipulu is ranked as a three-star recruit by both Rivals (5.5) and the 247Sports Composite (0.8566) and chose Georgia Tech over reported offers from Arizona, Missouri, Nebraska, and others. Brent Key and Kerry Dixon are listed as his primary recruiters for the Jackets, adding another win to the rookie coaching staff’s resume.
Congratulations to Paula and his family on his commitment!
