One way that Geoff Collins & co. could possibly be preparing for Pittsburgh is with special teams trick plays. The Pressley Harvin III TD pass against Miami was incredible, but that means that teams will be watching the rest of the season for something like that. It’s up to the coaching staff to come up with new, creative plays that can lead to Yellow Jacket wins.
Another way that Tech must be preparing for Pittsburgh is with the DL rotation. The unit lost a great player this past weekend, with freshman Chico Bennett having season-ending surgery. Although just a freshman, Bennett was a solid player for a weak DL, with 17 tackles and a half sack for the year. Get well soon, Chico!
My prediction on Friday was right. Nate McCollum, a three-star WR from Dutchtown High School in Hampton, Georgia committed to the Jackets. McCollum decommitted from N.C. State in September and held offers from other schools including Michigan, Michigan State, and Tennessee. He will be a great offensive addition starting next year. McCollum will also be great for the Tech baseball team, as he has a top ranking from Perfect Game. Welcome to The Flats, Nate!
This was not a good game for Georgia Tech Basketball. Alabama made 46% of their three-pointers (17-37), and controlled the game from the tip. It is a disheartening loss for the Jackets just before the start of the season next week, but hopefully they’ll not let it affect them as they begin regular season play.
Cypress Point is often rated as one of the top-10 golf courses in the world. For Georgia Tech’s Golf team to be able to play it in tournament conditions is an incredible experience. They are very lucky to be playing Cypress Point, and will be very lucky to pull a win off against a strong field. Good luck, Jackets!
Question of the Day: How do you feel about Nate McCollum?
