Countdown to Tipoff: Asanti Price and David Didenko

Two new faces for the Jackets

NCAA Basketball: ACC Conference Tournament-Georgia Tech vs Notre Dame Jeremy Brevard-USA TODAY Sports

The Yellow Jackets brought in two players in the class on 2019. After missing on many of the top targets in the class, Tech was able to fill the holes on the roster.

Asanti Price

Guard - 6-5 175 - W J Keenan HS Colombia, SC

#512 ranked player in the US, #93 ranked Shooting Guard, #11 player in South Carolina

Asanti is larger guard who has shown the ability to shoot the ball from deep. Price played well in the teams trip to Spain, scoring at least 5 points in each game, with a high of 13 points in the 3rd game, and making 6 3 pointers over the 4 games. With Bubba Parham gaining eligibility, Price will probably take a year to get stronger and will probably not contribute much to the Jackets this season.

David Didenko

Forward - 6-9 216 - Palm Beach State College

#35 ranked JUCO player in the US, #8 ranked Power Forward, #11 ranked player in Florida

Didenko is a bit of a mystery man, when he committed in October of 2018 not much was known about him. He looks to be a big bodied stretch 4 type player who can shoot a bit from distance. He didn’t put up great numbers last year playing for his junior college, averaging only 3.8 points and 3.4 rebounds per game, while shooting less than .400 from the floor. He didn’t travel with the team to Spain.
