Even as the Jackets suffer loss after loss, they’ve kept their recruiting class (fairly) intact. The comments from the three recruits interviewed in this article all show a good feeling among the class, even with the poor form the Jackets have shown. The season is only half over though, so as early signing day approaches and the season continues on, look for the Jackets to possibly toy with their recruiting class a tad bit.

The Blue-Grey All-American Bowl is one of the top high school prospect showcases in the United States, with three games and many combines each year. One game is the North vs. South at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida, and Yellow Jacket QB commit Tucker Gleason was selected to play. This is a great opportunity for Gleason to play against top prospects from around the country, and to show off his skills one last time before he comes to The Flats. Congratulations, Tucker!
Georgia Tech’s Volleyball team had a pretty good week, defeating both the Clemson Tigers and VPISU in straight sets. Outside hitter Julia Bergmann was instrumental in these two wins, and was rightly award by the ACC as Freshman of the Week. The German has been one of the bright spots on a disappointing Tech team so far, so look for her when the Jackets play 4 straight games in Atlanta, starting this Friday evening at 7 against Wake Forest.
Nell Fortner brought a lot of experience coaching and broadcasting when hired on as head coach by Georgia Tech after the MaChelle Joseph debacle earlier this year. Fortner was able to share some of that experience just a few days ago at the USA Basketball Women in the Game conference in Atlanta. Let’s just hope that the experience she brings translates into games won for the Jackets in her first season at the helm.
Unless the Falcons come back from 10 down in the second half to win, the Braves, Falcons and Georgia and Georgia Tech football will be a combined 0-5 for the week that began Monday, with a few of those losses especially painful for much of the ATL sporting populace.

At least I’m a Panthers fan, Go Kyle Allen!
Question of the Day: What are your thoughts on the current recruiting class?
