A three-star outside linebacking prospect from Central Gwinnett High School in Lawrenceville, Evans chose Tech over reported offers from Rutgers, Coastal Carolina, and others. His commitment comes just a couple of days after he made a visit to Georgia Tech, per his 247Sports page.
He is the second linebacker in the 2019 class, joining early signee Chico Bennett Jr., and could have a shot at some early playing time given the current status of Tech’s front seven, especially with Brant Mitchell’s departure and speculation that Bruce Jordan-Swilling could see some time at running back this season.
Evans is the 18th overall player for Georgia Tech’s 2019 class, joining 16 early signees offensive lineman Joshua Black (who remains unsigned). Congratulations to Cornelius and his family on his commitment to Georgia Tech!
