Technical Tidbits 9/17: Football Struggles Continue While Volleyball Surges

Football falls to 1-2, Volleyball surges, and Clemson set for 3:30 kickoff.

Georgia Tech Loses to Pitt 24-19

On Saturday, the Yellow Jackets road struggles continued, as they fell to Pittsburgh 24-19. The loss dropped the Jackets to 1-2 on the season and frustration is beginning to mount for the players, coaching staff, and fans.

The Panthers jumped out to a 21-0 first half lead, dominating the Jackets in every aspect of the game. Tech was not much better in the second half, however they still crawled back to make it a one score game with 0:37 left, but were unable to recover the ensuing onside kick.

The path gets no easier going forward, with Clemson coming to town next weekend.

Tech Volleyball Takes Down uga

If you missed this piece of news Friday night, the Yellow Jacket Volleyball team picked up a huge win over rival georgia. After winning the first two sets, the match went the distance, but Tech pulled out the victory, in large part due to an absolutely electric atmosphere in a sold out O’Keefe Gymnasium.

On Saturday, the team defeated Arkansas to move to 11-2 on the season and 10-0 at home.

Anders Albertson takes Second Place at Boise Open

On Sunday, Anders Albertson finished tied for second at the Boise Open, the second to last event in the Web.com Tour Finals. Despite already earning his PGA tour card for next season based off of regular season performance, Alberston is still competing for tour priority. Heading into the final event of the season, Albertson sits in third place in the overall standings.

Georgia Tech-Clemson to Air Nationally on ABC

No. 2 Clemson comes to town this Saturday, in a game that has now been decided to be aired nationally on ABC at 3:30pm ET. Clemson is coming off of a 38-7 win over Georgia Southern and a narrow 28-26 win over Texas A&M the week before. Tech sits at 1-2 on the season, but have won five of their last six at home against Clemson.
