You likely know May 24th as the birthday of many YouTube phenoms and almost certainly as the day the first public garage opened in 1899, but around these parts it marks the 100 days to kickoff milestone. That’s right! In just over three months, Georgia Tech will kick things off against Alcorn State at noon noon-and-a-half at Bobby Dodd Stadium.
In the meantime, however, we here at From the Rumble Seat will bring you our 5th (or 6th, or 4th, or maybe 7th) edition of the 100 Days to Kickoff series. There’s plenty left to unpack before the season formally begins, so here’s a sneak preview of some of what is coming your way this summer.
What can you expect to read?
- Opinion Week 2018
- A look at the players poised to break out for Tech this season
- A rundown of the new faces who could have an early impact
- An interesting retrospective on the past five recruiting classes
- Opponent-by-opponent previews
- All of the boldest and wrongest predictions you could ever ask for
- And more!
Those are just a few of the many great series we have planned for the coming months. If you have an idea for a series that you’d like to see implemented, just leave a comment below or contact us on Twitter (@FTRSBlog) or via email (fromtherumbleseat@gmail).
Welcome to our new faces!
In preparation for another great season of Georgia Tech football, we have expanded our staff to include four new and talented football writers. I’ll let them introduce themselves:
Chris Paschal
“Hi I’m Chris Paschal and I graduated from Tech in 2017. I work in Boston as a Software Engineer.”
Andrew Rodrigues
“I’m Andrew Rodrigues, I graduated in 2009 with a degree in public policy. I live in Raleigh.”
Ethan Kreager
“Hey Yellow Jackets! I’m Ethan Kreager, a second-year undergrad at Tech originally from Greensboro, NC.”
Matt Schwartz
“Hi everyone! I’m Matt Schwartz and I graduated from Tech in 2015 with a degree in Aerospace Engineering. Now I live in Atlanta and work as a Systems Engineer at Delta Air Lines.“
Each of the four brings a unique style and talent to our team and we can’t wait for each of them to showcase their knowledge of and love for Georgia Tech.
We hope you enjoy the 2018 edition of 100 Days to Kickoff, officially kicking off tomorrow with Opinion Week. Join us every day until September 1st as we kick off the post-Ted Roof era on the Flats!
