GOOD LORD Y’ALL IT’S NOT EVEN MAY

NFL: NFL Draft
WE HAVE ERECTED THIS GIANT MIRROR TO SPITE THE SUN
Tim Heitman-USA TODAY Sports

Anyone else feeling a draft? If you ask me, there’s nothing good about the NFL, except for one thing. Nonetheless, the annual NFL draft came waltzing into our lives last night, and I know that’s appointment viewing for some of you. Weirdos. Because this isn’t an NFL blog, here’s the Cliff’s notes: the Browns actually did a smart thing and took Baker Mayfield with the first overall pick; favorite of Mel Kiper (and only Mel Kiper) Josh Allen was picked up by the Bills with the 7th pick, because of course the Bills picked Allen over Josh Rosen; and despite all the Georgia fans’ pleas, the Falcons did not pick up Sony Michel, but Calvin Ridley, leaving Michel to get picked up by.... New England.

Our lord and savior weighs in.

There are still six more rounds of drafting to take place over the next two days, so if you’re interested in that, there are plenty of websites out there on this here internet where you can do that, including the mothership.

Is there anything else to talk about? Well, uh, baseball lost another midweek game to Georgia and seemingly no one noticed, so that doesn’t seem great. They have a home series this weekend against Wake Forest, another team fighting for a spot in the conference tournament. Women’s tennis is set to begin wiping the floor with the rest of the ACC at the conference tournament in Cary, starting with Syracuse at 11:30. On the men’s side of tennis, Tech just upset #5 Virginia tech and will face #4 Notre Dame at 2:30. And then every team faces their most difficult opponent of all next week: finals.

Countdown to the end of the Russell Athletic contract: 65 days.
