This weekend Tech played a fantastic series that was paced by an incredible pitching performance. The team gave up only 6 runs all weekend winning 6-1, 13-4, and 4-1. Tristin English got his first career win on Sunday throwing 6 innings and giving up only one run. This sweep gives the team some momentum before they head to Athens on Tuesday to take on Georgia.
Paul Johnson was very vague in his description of the practice, but he did leave some interesting tidbits. He talked a little bit about how the new defensive scheme was impacting certain players, particularly Victor Alexander. Johnson said the new scheme would allow Vic to move outside and use his speed more. He also mentioned that kicking has not been very good so far at practice.
At his hometown in San Antonio on Saturday Ben Lammers played in the Reese’s College All-Star Game at the Alamodome. He came off the bench and added 6 points, 3 blocks, 4 rebounds, and an assist. With his final collegiate game over with he is now looking forward to the NBA draft. He probably won’t be drafted, but there is a good chance he ends up signing on the G-League or perhaps heading to Europe.
