Justin Moore Transferring To Be Closer To Home
Late last week point guard Justin Moore announced that he was transferring after two years at Georgia Tech. He told the AJC that he was transferring to be closer to home in San Diego. It also didn’t help that Darryl LaBarrie, who recruited Moore, was not with the team this season and was ultimately fired. This transfer leaves Tech with one scholarship left. Given how late in the recruiting game it is, I think it’s most likely that Josh Pastner targets a graduate transfer.
Yellow Jacket’s Baseball Swept By #11 Clemson
If the Yellow Jackets had gotten one win in their away series against #6 Clemson, that would have been a pretty good result. Unfortunately, they didn’t get any. They lost the first game on Friday in a close one 3-2, before losing both ends of a doubleheader on Saturday 7-3 and then 13-2. This was a very tough series for the Yellow Jackets who were hoping to get off to a better start in ACC play. Next they head to Auburn on Tuesday to face the surging Tigers before facing Virginia Tech this weekend.
Yellow Jackets Basketball Not Invited To Tournament, NIT
I am writing this before the tournament and NIT fields are officially announced, but it would be the shock of the century if GT was chosen for either. This team struggled all year and wasn’t able to fit all the pieces together. It is almost certain that we have seen the final games from Ben Lammers and Tadric Jackson. This team is now heading into the offseason looking forward to next year. The women’s team is unlikely to make the tournament, but they could the NIT.
