All Star Alert: We Have No All-Stars

Welcome to From the Rumble Seat’s weekly look at the Yellow Jackets in professional basketball.

National Basketball Association:

Derrick Favors - Utah Jazz: Three great games for Favors this week in three Jazz wins. They remain in tenth in the Western Conference, despite not having lost in quite some time. His average for the week of more than 17 points per contest, as well as 10 rebounds per game, are both above his expected production by a nice margin. However, he is...not an All-Star.

Marcus Georges-Hunt - Minnesota Timberwolves: Did not play all week, and, sadly yet very expectedly, did not make it onto any All-Star roster. Georges-Hunt remains in limbo until he inevitably gets another chance to play some bigger minutes like he did last month.

Jarrett Jack - New York Knicks: Jack put up paltry numbers, from minutes to points and everywhere in between, in the Knicks’ loss to Thaddeus Young’s Pacers, and the rest of his play has looked patchy in the week as well. Though his most recent contest was more of a return to form, especially in doling out assists well, his play left something to be desired this week and the Knicks remain on the outside looking in of the Eastern Conference playoff chase. Also not an All-Star.

Iman Shumpert - Sacramento Kings: Has not yet played any minutes for his new team and will not be playing this weekend in the showdown between bitter rivals...Team LeBron James and Team Stephen Curry.

Thaddeus Young - Indiana Pacers: A double-double and another game of very solid play for the reliable Pacer, who sees his team now in fifth in the Eastern Conference. They did not lose all week into the break. Also not an All-Star, but he certainly earned his place as the featured Pro Jacket of the week in the image at the top of the page with his consistent play.
