Tech Volleyball Sweep The Wolfpack
On Sunday afternoon, the Yellow Jacket volleyball team took down NC State 3-0 to move to 15-10 on the season and improve to 4-8 in ACC play. The win was yet another strong performance at home, where the Jackets have thrived all season. Tech is 13-3 in O’Keefe Gymnasium this year with the 13 wins being the most at home since 2009. Sunday’s win over NC State followed up a 3-2 victory on Friday over North Carolina.
Andy Demetra Fulfills Lifelong Dream
This weekend, with Georgia Tech football not playing, the “Voice of the Jackets”, Andy Demetra was able to fulfill what he called a “dream since he was a young kid.” Filling in for Neil Funk, he called play-by-play for the Chicago Bulls this weekend, against both the Charlotte Hornets and the Atlanta Hawks. Demetra is a native of Chicago and grew up as a Bulls fan.
Baseball Drops Exhibition Game, But Fan 18 Batters
Saturday afternoon, Tech baseball took on Chattahoochee Valley Community College in an exhibition game at Russ Chandler, falling 5-4 in a predetermined 12 inning game. Despite the loss, the Yellow Jacket pitchers combined for 10 scoreless innings and struck out 18 batters along the way. The fall season will conclude on Wednesday with the annual White vs. Gold World Series, which is set to start at 2:30pm.
Trio of Jackets Finish Inside Top 10 at Sanderson Farms Championship
Roberto Castro, Anders Albertson, and Seth Reeves all finished inside the top 10 this weekend at the Sanderson Farms Championship. The trio are all playing on the PGA tour this year, after playing on the Web.com tour a season ago.
