Technical Tidbits 10/24: Gameday Approaches

The Jackets prepare to face the Hokies

Saint-Amour Breaking Out in New Defense

Defensive End Anree Saint-Amour has turned into a monster along the defensive line for the Yellow Jackets this season in the switch to a 3-4. Coming in at only 245 pounds, he is small by defensive end standards for the 3-4 defense, but he has been destructive. Saint-Amour has combined for 10 tackles, three sacks, three forced fumbles, and two quarterback hurries over Tech’s last two games. Hopefully Saint-Amour can continue his hot streak tomorrow night in Blacksburg.

Teixeira Honored for Community Service

Georgia Tech baseball alum Mark Teixeira will be awarded the thirteenth annual Heisman Humanitarian Award for his outstanding work in the community, in his hometown of Baltimore but also in Atlanta. The award is given out annually by the Heisman Trust and has previously been given to Joe Torre, Mia Hamm, and Boomer Esiason among others. The award will be presented on December 9th in New York City.

Tech Continues to Work on Ball Security

So far this season, Georgia Tech ranks dead last in FBS with 3.1 fumbles per game. The coaching staff has been focusing on ball control during the bye week, and not committing turnovers has to be priority #1 for the offense if the team is to leave Lane Stadium with a win on Thursday night.
