Pro Jacket Report - January 4th, 2018

Welcome to From the Rumble Seat’s weekly look at the Yellow Jackets in professional basketball.

National Basketball Association:

Derrick Favors - Utah Jazz: Favors has played well again this week. He has played more minutes, but fewer games. He had three steals against the Cleveland Cavaliers, combined with a nineteen points in the home win. In a losing effort against the Pelicans later in the week, he managed only eleven points, but complemented those with nine rebounds. All in all, it was a good week’s showing for the veteran.

Marcus Georges-Hunt - Minnesota Timberwolves: He got in all the games! He scored five points in one! It was a good week for Georges-Hunt, and hopefully he keeps this trend up.

Jarrett Jack - New York Knicks: This week, Jack saw a lot of playing time. Though the Knicks are on a two game skid, he made it to double-figures in both games, while continuing to have a strong assists to field goals made ratio, which is always desirable in a successful point guard. The Knicks still sit just outside the playoff picture due to their recent losses, but Jack’s play and health have remained strong.

Iman Shumpert - Cleveland Cavaliers: Shumpert is still sidelined with a knee injury.

Thaddeus Young - Indiana Pacers: In two games since the last Pro Jacket Report, Young has not shot the ball terribly well, at about 33.3% of late. Also, his peripheral stats were down just slightly on the week. His minutes were down slightly as well, so these could both be a reflection of that. Regardless, he is uninjured and hopefully will see a natural uptick after this week.
