Ed. Note: I’ve written this feature well over 600 times, but this is the first time I’ve ever published instantly by accident. In honor of this tremendous occasion I’ll let everyone enjoy a random 12:39 AM edition of Technical Tidbits. Have fun.
Georgia Tech will celebrate a second-consecutive basketball sellout on Sunday when the Clemson Tigers come to McCamish Pavilion, guaranteeing at least three sellouts for the year with tickets to the upcoming game versus No. 4 Duke long gone. Excitement surrounding the team and the atmosphere at McCamish have been excellent so far this year, and the continued support of both students and fans has been strong. In fact, the student ticket allotment for Clemson ran out in just three hours on Monday — an incredible turnaround for a team with losses to Grambling State and Wright State.
Meanwhile in the recruiting world, Georgia Tech lost out on a second prospect to Michigan this recruiting cycle with former Tech target Michael Barrett heading north to play for Jim Harbaugh. Barrett joins former defensive end commit Julius Welschof in Ann Arbor, though Barrett himself was never actually committed to the Jackets. Time is winding down to signing day and Tech still has a few spots open, but whether or not any of the remaining players fit Paul Johnson’s needs remains to be seen.
Above you’ll see a list of five teams which may be prime for regression this year, courtesy of Sports Illustrated. Number one on said list is may or may not have played for a national title and blown said national title in heartbreaking fashion before losing a number of key contributors to the NFL and graduation. Do with this information what you will while weighing whether or not you’ll click the link... but I would.
