Double-double week!

Welcome to From the Rumble Seat’s weekly look at the Yellow Jackets in professional basketball.

National Basketball Association:

Marcus Georges-Hunt - Minnesota Timberwolves: On one hand, he didn’t play much this week. On the other hand, he has a guaranteed contract. There are worse places to be in the shifting sands of the National Basketball League. He saw action in two games this week, finding the basket once and pulling in one rebound.

Derrick Favors - Utah Jazz: Trade rumors continue to follow the Jazz big man. After missing a game last week, he came back strong, including a double-double on the road in Sacramento. His minutes, a key indicator when coming back from injury, are right around his average, and he continues to be a force on the boards. If he does wind up getting traded, he will undoubtably provide a solid contribution down low for whichever of his many suitors lands him.

Thaddeus Young - Indiana Pacers: Culminating in a double-double in Portland last night, Young has played fantastically this week. An uptick to 14 rebounds in a single night is gravy when he is putting up solid peripherals as well. His numbers are up across the board, and his improved shooting percentage has led him to double figures in each of his last seven games. Indiana has won five of those seven games, climbing up to sixth place in the Eastern Conference in the process.

Jarrett Jack - New York Knicks: Until a trip across town to Brooklyn earlier in the week, Jack was on a tear. After finally hitting his stride, following up last week’s triple-double and a stellar 22 point, 8 assist outing against New Orleans, he was largely a non-entity this week. Though his assists are steady, his six total points, a decrease larger than his drop in minutes would indicate, led to a relatively unproductive week for the veteran point guard. With notable teammate Tim Hardaway Jr. coming back from injury, look for the assists to stay solid if Jack can keep his playing time steady.

Iman Shumpert - Cleveland Cavaliers: Shumpert is still on the shelf with a left knee injury, but is closer to returning to regular play.
