Three true freshmen in T.K. Chimedza, Quez Jackson, and Charlie Thomas all began their careers on The Flats this week. Joining them is Ole Miss transfer Jack Defoor who will add some much-needed depth at offensive tackle.
“Jack is a young man with good size, quickness and can do some of the things that we want to do on the offensive line,” Georgia Tech head coach Paul Johnson said. “He is also an excellent student and a local product that we recruited out of Calhoun who had an interest in coming back closer to home, so it’s a good fit for us. We’re excited to have him in our program.”
The 3 freshmen are all defensive players who will have a leg up on their classmates come fall camp due to more time with the program. With the secondary largely turning over for 2018, it wouldn’t be surprising to find Charlie Thomas on the 2-deep come September.
The baseball, softball, volleyball, and tennis facilities will all be receiving new video boards. The boards are expected to be completed before each hosts its respective season-openers. Callaway Plaza, the exterior area on the north end of Bobby Dodd Stadium, is also getting a video board.
