Josh Pastner is pure and innocent. You’ve, uh, you’ve heard about the scandals that have rocked college basketball recently, right? Lots of bribes going around, assistant coaches getting arrested, Rick Pitino got fired, and an Adidas exec might be involved? Pretty nasty stuff, and we’ll likely learn more as the weeks unfold.

Fortunately, there’s no need to worry about Georgia Tech being involved in any of this. Pastner is a pure, good boy who is incapable of wrongdoing. Me, personally, I’m just mad because Pitino’s was on the shortlist of household names whose asses Pastner had yet to kick. Still gunning for you this year, Coach K.
Hey, you’ve got something on your heel. A bunch of the writers here (yours truly included) have been blocked on Twitter by SB Nation neighbors Tar Heel Blog for...... some reason, so there are no stories of interest to share from there. So here’s an article from Ramblinwreck about how the team’s mad as hell about the three game losing streak to the Heels, and they’re not gonna take it anymore.
This is why the scout team can’t have nice things. Despite all external appearances, it turns out Paul Johnson can be a pretty nice, caring guy. When it comes to his team, that is. He doesn’t care about you. Anyway, used to be for away games he’d invite one scout team player to travel with the team. Scout teams typically have away games off due to NCAA regulations on the number of players who can travel, see. But in the last couple of years, enough players have declined the trip that Coach Johnson has simply decided to stop making the offer. Suit yourself, guys; I don’t know that I’d have missed out on a weekend road trip for anything. (Also, “going back home for the fall dance” is just an old-timey thing Paul Johnson just threw out and not an actual thing anymore, right? Right??)
Let’s make Carolina black and blue this weekend.
