Saturday afternoon, the Georgia Tech football team had things rolling at Bobby Dodd and the Georgia Tech basketball team had things rolling on the recruiting trail. Via his twitter account, point guard Michael Devoe committed to Josh Pastner and the Yellow Jackets just after 5 pm on Saturday. Devoe had also taken official visits to USC and Wake Forest and was also considering UConn, Florida, Clemson, Ohio State, and Indiana.

Devoe, a consensus four star and top 75 player, is ranked as high as 56 (on ESPN). On the EYBL circuit this summer, he averaged 15 ppg and just over 4 rpg and 4 apg. After playing for Oak Ridge, Devoe will be transferring to basketball powerhouse Montverde for his senior year. At Montverde, Devoe will be playing along other top recruits, most notably RJ Barrett, the #1 player in the 2018 class. Playing against and alongside the best competition should have Devoe ready for the ACC when he arrives on campus next fall.

Welcome to the flats Mike!
