We Run This State.

NCAA Football: Georgia Tech at Georgia Dale Zanine-USA TODAY Sports

CBS listed the best college football team in each state headed into the 2017 season. And according to CBS, the best team in the state of Georgia is... the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets.

Tech’s two wins in the last three tries against Georgia and last season’s 9-4 record are listed as reason’s for Tech’s superiority entering this season. Let’s keep it that way.

SB Nation’s Bill Connelly joined 180 Sports on WNML in Knoxville, Tenn. to discuss Georgia Tech’s opening opponent, the Tennessee Volunteers.

Connelly discusses the difficulty of facing a Paul Johnson-led squad to open the season. He also says while Tennessee may be favored, his S&P+ rankings have Tennessee at just a 56% chance to win - so virtually a toss-up.

Connelly also discusses UT’s outlook for 2017 and the rest of the SEC.

Georgia Tech sophomore OL Parker Braun was named to the 2017 Earl Campbell Award watch list on Tuesday.

The Campbell Award is given by the Tyler (Texas) Chamber of Commerce to the "top offensive player in NCAA Division I that exhibits the enduring characteristics that define Earl Campbell: integrity, performance, teamwork, sportsmanship, drive, community and tenacity."

Additionally, the award winner must have either been born in Texas or attended a Texas high school, college or university. Braun was born in Florida, but graduated from Hallsville High School in Hallsville, Texas.
