Georgia Tech received commitment No. 10 of its 2018 recruiting class in spectacular fashion this afternoon, adding four-star defensive back Jaylon King into the fold for next season.
A Rivals250 recruit out of Nashville, King chose Tech over reported offers from Vanderbilt, Ole Miss, Louisville, and others plus recent interest from the likes of Alabama and Notre Dame. He carries a 0.864 247Sports composite ranking and a 5.8 Rivals rating, placing him among the highest-rated recruits of the upcoming class.

Though he played both quarterback and cornerback in high school, King revealed in this interview with Rivals that he will start off his career in Tech’s defensive backfield. He is the latest in a string of very strong defensive back commits for Georgia Tech, a trend which started a few years ago with Step Durham and continued with the likes of A.J. Gray, Gentry Bonds, and Kaleb Oliver over the following couple of years. Andy McCollum is listed as King’s primary recruiter, adding another solid notch to his impressive recruiting record.
Congratulations to Jaylon and to his family on his commitment to Georgia Tech!
