Technical Tidbits 7/26: Lynch and Mills Named One of the ACC’s Best Duos

#22 is finally getting some of the attention he deserves.

NCAA Football: Georgia Tech at Georgia Dale Zanine-USA TODAY Sports

Athlon Sports released its list of the best running back duos in the ACC in 2017, and Dedrick Mills and Clinton Lynch checked in at #2, trailing only Jacques Patrick and Cam Akers of Florida State.

As the most staunch Clinton Lynch supporter in the Southeast, this makes me happy. Lynch is consistently overlooked by many in the media despite averaging more than 17 yards per touch last season, so it’s good to see him and Mills getting some recognition going into 2017.

In the linked article above, Rivals ranks the coaches in the ACC 1-14 in order of who is on the hot seat. The article lists Paul Johnson as the coach on the second-hottest seat in the conference, saying, “Johnson is 70-48 as a head coach at Tech coming off a 9-4 season, but some still think it’s time for a change after his 3-9 campaign in 2015.”

I don’t really know how to respond to that one. Just go ahead and chalk that up to fake news, I suppose.

Finally, Coach Johnson joined Brad Edwards - filling in for Paul Finebaum - and discussed his thoughts on the upcoming season, the ACC being the best conference in college football and his pleasure in beating teams from the SEC.
