Technical Tidbits 7/12: If NCAA 18 Were Real

Yesterday would have been the day on which EA Sports NCAA Football 18 came out - that is, if it was still being produced. NCAA Football 14 was the last college football game produced by EA Sports, in light of the infamous Ed O’Bannon lawsuit. The game is still beloved by college football fans who eagerly await its return.

SB Nation took a stab at what each team might look like if the game were to come out for this upcoming season. Georgia Tech received an 82 overall rating, with an 84 on offense and an 80 on defense. Alabama was the highest ranked team at 94 overall, with Florida State, Ohio State and USC also in the nineties.

Quarterback Matthew Jordan was one of 146 student-athletes nominated for the Allstate AFCA Good Works Team, which highlights student-athletes’ contributions to the community. Georgia Tech was the only institution represented on both the AFCA and NABC Good Works Teams in 2016, with KeShun Freeman and Rand Rowland earning those honors. The 2017 team will be announced in September.

Charlie Blackmon hit leadoff for the National League in Tuesday’s MLB All-Star Game, but went 0-3. The American League defeated the National League 2-1 in 10 innings.
